Job Summary:
Department Overview:
The Organization & Talent Solutions and Diversity & Inclusion team is responsible for learning & development, talent management, organization development, people insights and diversity & inclusion. Our mission is to make Direct-to-Consumer & International a great place to work and help individuals grow their careers. Responsibilities:
Needs Analysis & Design:
• Work with HR, leaders, and employees to understand what are the learning and development topics that matter most to employees and make the most impact to the business
• Bring solutions to help ensure our design processes involve and support the learner (our consumer) and reflect Direct-to-Consumer & International principles
• Assisting team with projects and initiatives by conducting research, analysis or other work. This may include working closely with HR teams, analytics teams, and senior leadership to help provide relevant point of view on learning issues in the market
• Help to create and manage our team website to promote products, services, plans, marketing, communications and support tools and documentation
Project Management:
• Help to manage coordination of leader-nominated development programs and open-enrollment programs assuring an excellent learning environment and experience
• Help to identify new/updated processes that increase agility, speed and are focused on the learner as our consumer and their learning experience.
• Work with and on task teams associated with various learning and development related projects and initiatives (i.e. new hire orientation, leadership development, etc.)
Basic Qualifications:
• Junior, Senior or Graduate pursuing a degree in learning, adult learning theory, organization development, human resources or organizational behavior with some prior work experience
• A strong passion for learning and development
• Consumer-centric design, including design thinking
• Strong organizational skills
• High level of initiative and entrepreneurial spirit along with detail orientation
• Ability to work both within project teams and independently
• Ability to protect confidential and sensitive information
• Prior experience in learning is preferred, but not required
• Ideal candidate is a Junior, Senior or Graduate pursuing a degree in learning, adult learning theory, organization development, human resources or organizational behavior with some prior work experience
• Must be able proficient in MS Office – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and prior concept and technical understanding of learning
• Must be able to work in a dynamic,changing environment and navigate the gray.
Additional Information:
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
• Program Dates: Interns must be fully available from September 2019 to January 2020.
• Housing: Interns must provide their own housing for the duration of their internship program.
• Transportation: Interns must have reliable transportation to get to and from work for the duration of their internship program.
