Job Title: Resource Manager
Department: XR Studio
Reports to: Head of Digital Studio/Head of Production
Status: Staff, Exempt
Classification: Full Time, Staff
Purpose of the job:
The Resource Manager works with the creative and production teams in our XR Studio to identify appropriate resources to accommodate production needs across all projects including Commercials, Broadcast, and VR/AR, while maximizing the utilization of existing resources within the facility.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Engages in the full cycle recruitment process with a specific focus on various freelance 2D, 3D, production support, and technical positions, often working on a very fast timeline
Participates in weekly bidding and staffing/scheduling meetings to stay abreast of potential new projects and their impact on resources
Works closely with Head of Production, and Producers to develop schedules for various short form projects
Works closely with Head of Production, Supervisors, and Producers to identify anticipated talent needs and develop recruitment strategies
Knowledgeable on the skill sets of artists in assigned area; provides frequent analysis of current and future needs and recommends strategies for the reconciliation of needs and available resources
Maintains strong professional relationships with talent at other facilities in an effort to predict employee availability for current or upcoming projects
Maintains current, robust list of available talent and request formal holds on freelancers according to projected staffing scenarios
Reviews all digital artist and production assignments, updates database, and communicates updates to producers
Confirms end dates, extensions, and roll-overs with production teams and communicates any changes to artists
Generates scheduling reports for department meetings
Assists in space planning and the onboarding of new artists as required
Manages timecard approvals and vacation request processing
Conducts School Outreach participating in portfolio reviews, and speaker series
Participates in various industry related events and conferences
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in film, art, communications or related field
3+ years creative resources management and/or recruitment experience in a production- or agency-environment
Experience with commercials, VFX, or interactive media pipelines and production processes required
Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
Comprehensive knowledge of Google Apps and Microsoft Office required
Experience with production tracking software - especially Shotgun - a plus
Familiarity with various applicant tracking systems
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and negotiation skills
Ability to remain detail-oriented while juggling multiple tasks in a high pressure environment
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts
Ability to successfully manage a high volume of candidate activity
Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to develop and foster relationships with internal stakeholders
Proven history of sourcing and identifying top talent from competitive studios in a professional manner
Must be extremely flexible with the fast-paced nature of the entertainment/production business
Strong self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative to tackle and see through to completion
Proven ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
Office working environment
Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs
Walking/bending/sitting
