As the Youth Engagement & Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the Director and Manager in the facilitation of all Pistons Academy youth basketball programs and events.

What you'll be doing:
• Assist on-site Directors in the execution of Pistons Academy camps, clinics, leagues, and tournaments and serve as the on-site Director of camps/clinics as needed
• Assist in the marketing and promotion of all Pistons Academy programs/events
• Lead parent communication efforts and interact with program participants to distribute relevant programming information
• Coordinate and supervise the equipment and setup/teardown needs for all programming and maintain a record of all Pistons Academy inventory
• Provide support in the hiring, training, and scheduling of Pistons Academy support staff/coaches
• Assist the Director and Manager in company-wide initiatives and collaboration across departments
• Provide support for all Pistons Academy game-day experiences and in-arena promotional opportunities
• Support Basketball for all and community-based youth basketball initiatives
What we're looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in Sports/Event Management, Marketing, Advertising, or related field required.
• Experience facilitating youth sports/recreational programs preferred
• Experience with promotions in sports, entertainment and/or agency background
• Basketball playing, coaching and/or officiating experience suggested but not required
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable in a strongly collaborative environment, while still being a self-starter
• Exceptional professionalism and polish in demeanor and appearance
• Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and organization
• Able to work extended hours, including events on nights and weekends
• Clean driving record required
• Ability to do some heavy lifting of equipment (25-35 pounds)
