As our Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, you will lead the organization's diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies and initiatives both internally and externally for PSE. You will build, implement and develop programs and policies that support our core principles of acceptance and understanding that help further a culture of respect, equality and inclusiveness.
As an Ambassador of our culture, you will influence recruitment; training; talent management, development, and retention; employee engagement and community involvement.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Advise and guide senior management on DEI matters including staying abreast of legislation, regulation and new methodologies. Additionally, recommending vital changes to current policies.
• Develop and coordinate internal trainings, Lunch & Learns, round tables, discussions, etc. on cultural competence, focusing on self-awareness, attitudes and behaviors towards others and increased cultural knowledge.
• Liaison with NBA league office on DEI initiatives and policies including hiring practices, diversity program and career development.
• Plan, execute, and lead Inclusion Council meetings, as well as recruit and onboard new members annually.
• Work with SVP and HR to drive diverse talent strategies in recruitment, hiring, and retention of underrepresented teammates.
• Collaborate with SVP to prepare annual business plan outlining DEI goals, objectives, and strategies.
• Engage division leaders in conversation around what inclusion looks like for their business and help provide action items to achieve results.
• Utilize and promote internal Employee Resource Groups to strengthen employee collaboration and support
• Create strategy and assess the Piston organization's DEI related needs. This includes serving as an internal and as an external (for community partners) consultant, facilitator, and strategic advisor for implementation of DEI programs and initiatives from concept to launch.
• Drive and supervise progress of the strategic plan across all departments with cross-functional teams; developing metrics, evaluating, and revising plan goals/task as needed. Lead development of second iteration of strategic plan.
• Partner with SVP of HR to run semi-annual reporting on DEI plan with planning committees, updating staff, leadership and external partners on progress.
• Represent company at DEI-related speaking engagements, related conferences, luncheons and events.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Communications, Human Resources or a related field. Advanced degree preferred, but not required.
• 7 years of demonstrated experience implementing and executing DEI initiatives
• Proven track record of driving large scale cultural efforts in well-regarded and admired companies.
• Ability to think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a results-oriented mentality.
• Experience applying a broad view approach to development that emphasizes not just education, but also self-awareness, exposure to real-world problems, connections to people, and persuasive tools and resources that reinforce skills.
• Demonstrable ability to influence areas of the business without direct reporting relationships.
• Solid understanding of recruitment, talent management/retention and leadership development with a focus on the integration of diversity practices into these functions.
• Demonstrable ability to craft and implement large-scale leadership (including executive level), manager, and/or high-performing team programs/training.
