We have an opening for a Sr. Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Burbank CA. This position is full time. Hours are first shift.
Major Job Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop, support, diagnose and resolve problems, write procedures, and train operations personnel in all areas of post production systems engineering which includes digital cinema mastering, duplication, and satellite systems. Mastering systems include projectors, various 3D projection systems, sound processors, Digital Cinema players, mastering servers, I/O systems, storage systems, and interconnecting networks. Duplication systems include hard drives, hard drive enclosures, hard drive duplicators, and validators. Satellite systems include uplink and receive site equipment for store and forward and live distribution of content. Some knowledge of computer hardware, Windows and Linux operating systems, networks, storage area networks, satellite communication, encryption, and software/scripting is beneficial.
General Job Requirements
- Digital Cinema Mastering System Developments and Support
o Mastering, I/O, and Storage Systems Development and Support
Design and Implement new mastering, I/O, and storage systems
- Compression Integration including Clipster and Doremi
- Storage Expansion (NAS, Filesystems including StorNext
- 10 G-bit networking direct to systems
- Networking solutions to other facilities
- Implement and Adminstration of Aspera, Signiant, etc servers
- Linux and Windows System administration
Support existing systems and troubleshoot problems
Help design and support workflow changes
o Playback, Projection, and QC Development and Maintenance
QC digital cinema playback server software releases
Design and implement new playback, projection, and QC systems
- Production Bays
- Audio Router
- Easy DCP
Projector, 3D system, and audio system configuration support
Projection bulb maintenance and calibration work
o Support operations in the design and implementation of operational workflows
o Design and implement mastering system security procedures
- Hard Drive Duplication System Support
o Research new duplication systems
o Test new duplication and validation software releases for current hardware
o Support operations in the design and implementation of operational workflows
- Satellite System Development and Support
o Define system requirements and specifications
o Guide technology partners in design work
o Test new subsystems and software revisions
Live Event Systems
Alternative file delivery platforms
Current system software releases
o Support operations in the design and implementation of operational workflows
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- BS in engineering, computer science or other technical field
- Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in the field of information technology.
- Excellent problem solving
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Works well with others
- Flexible to work overtime, and weekends as needed
- A ''can-do'' attitude, with the ability to energize and work with multi functional teams is required
- Must be able to work independently in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to lift up to 20lbs
