Position Summary
The Remote Systems Engineer is responsible for providing end user support for all applications software, network infrastructure and computing devices and peripherals from a remote perspective. The position is responsible to remotely monitor and troubleshoot issues that have been escalated from support staff. This includes working with internal and external resources, coordination of vendors and suppliers. The Analyst will also be responsible for standardization, imaging, patching, remote configuration and remote assistance troubleshooting for all end user workstations. The Analyst will be responsible to lead efforts to standardize and remediate any security initiatives related to end user devices.
Position Responsibilities
• Responsible and accountable for remote support of end user devices, workflows, applications, and user defined issues.
o Strong ability to use remote tools for monitoring and remediation of issues related to workstations, mobile devices, and other accessories used by end users.
o Strong communications skills to be pertinent in active support cases.
o Strong analytical and diagnostics skill including the in-depth knowledge of using Logs and other system resources to trouble shoot and find root cause of issues.
• Platform Management of SCCM and/or Jamf and other platform tools for remote configuration.
o Strong analytic skills to create reports and dashboards.
o Manage configurations and operation of client-based computer systems.
o Manage patching processes which includes vetting of software and testing of patches as well deployment to operations.
o Set standards via master images for Windows and Mac OS. This includes configuration, build, test and deployment of master images.
• Responsible for security remediations and configurations for end user devices.
o Directly liaison with Security Dept and align the Support team with Security initiatives and guidelines.
o Provide ad-hoc reports and work together on remediation strategies.
o Provide regularly scheduled reports on compliance and other security related configurations.
o Ensure proactive compliance of end user devices as it relates to security related guidelines.
• Lead projects and initiatives as it relates to deployment of software; troubleshoot software/systems, and other technology requirements. The engineer will be responsible to create, update and report on project plans as assigned from management.
• Responsible for supporting Level 3 EIT Operations with physical onsite support of Infrastructure, Network, Telecom, Applications, and Security interventions.
• Handle escalations from business units and customer base. Efficiently troubleshoot and escalate issues as necessary to the proper resolving unit involved to user satisfaction.
• In general, all other projects and/or assignments as requested by management.
Qualification Requirements
• Three/Four years college level course work in related field or two to four years of experience in a leadership position within an IT Operations Group.
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) a plus.
• Cisco CCNA or CCIE Voice Certification a plus.
• Established SCCM expertise with MCSE certification which is a plus.
• Demonstratable strong skillset for scripting within SCCM, Jamf, SQL as it relates to queries, deployment packages, and reports.
• Jamf and Apple certifications and expertise with these platforms.
• Experience with enterprise voice platforms/infrastructure
• Knowledge of Server 2003/2008/2012 operating systems and Active Directory structure and functionality.
• Familiar with Network Topology including LAN and WAN connectivity and Enterprise data flow.
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers to resolve issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create and align on procedures and policies as it relates to IT governance and initiatives.
• Established ability for leadership of groups of technicians and establishment of goals.
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful as required.
• Must be comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced environment and maintain sensitivity to personnel and corporate concerns.
• ITIL Foundations certification
