Position Title: Quality Control Operator
Openings: 1 – Full Time
Location: Deluxe Toronto (901 King Street West)
Located in downtown Toronto, Deluxe Toronto Ltd. is a leading supplier to the television, feature film and distribution industries.
We seek an individual with experience in the quality control of video and audio media to join our QC department. If you have an acute ability to discern small details within picture and audio, we have a position as a Quality Control operator.
Duties Include:
• Monitor international master media files, internal files and Digital Cinema masters for technical video and audio impairments
• Produce QC evaluation reports for clients listing packaging details, video / audio levels and impairments for the above materials
• Perform general monitoring of media files and create QA reports
• Rate impairments accurately, according to severity, based upon the criteria adopted by the department
• Be consistent with descriptions and ratings, adhering to the guidelines followed by the department
• Check master files for fixes, re-evaluate the impairments accurately and produce an updated report
• Operation of file playback software and related monitoring equipment
• Be comfortable with the technology, systems and procedures used by the department
• Assist clients and account managers with questions and concerns
• Maintain the best possible work environment
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Familiar with file playback systems and file formats, container types, and embedded metadata
• Understanding of different broadcast and OTT standards
• Understanding of video, film, file and audio terminologies as they apply to evaluations
• Ability to remain focused for extended periods of time on detail-oriented tasks
• Understanding of audio and video signal flow and routing
• Must have excellent computer skills
• Must be very detail oriented
• Must have great communication skills both oral and written
• Aware of the newest industry standards, issues and trends
• Understanding of legacy HD and SD broadcast tape formats
• Must be able to work various shifts and occasional weekends
• This position is eligible for overtime
