JOB PURPOSE:
The Prod Support Engineer will work on resolving issues affecting Deluxe business units, related primarily to applications and systems. Hire will work closely with the NOC as an escalation resource and various Dev team and infrastructure teams. As part of the application support team, hire will help maximize application availability, usability, and drive incident resolution.
DUTIES:
• Support the applications and VOD (Video On Demand) pipeline developed by our Dev teams, being heavily involved in operation, deployment and support.
• Primary escalation point for support on issues/question around the applications and VOD pipeline.
• Work with infrastructure team in helping to identify environmental problems.
• Set up monitoring, alarm, and any proactive solution to maintain application availability and performance.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as a Tier 2/3 escalation resource.
• Provide root cause analysis for major issues.
• Provide feedback and solutions for application quality/performance improvement.
• Act as an additional resource for basic support and configuration of 3rd party toolset.
• Maintains documentation and close communication with NOC support, to inform of changes, fixes, and temporary workaround processes.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting web applications based on a SQL, .Net, Node.js or Java
• Knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques related to networks and systems, including APIs and microservices
• Solid knowledge of T-SQL, with ability to confidently generate adhoc queries and troubleshoot stored procs
• Understanding of cloud resources and modern ways to operate & monitor them including CLI and API
• Ability to manipulate and analyze data; database, spreadsheet (Excel), log files analysis, etc.
• Ability to absorb rapidly new technical information and concept, and apply it effectively
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and ability to suggest short-term and long-term solutions
• Very detail-oriented in all aspects of work performed
• Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively and politely interact with customers.
• Experience with Agile Project Management tools a plus (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Git, etc)
EXPERIENCE:
• Two to 3 years of experience supporting Windows n-Tier based applications.
• AWS experience a plus
EDUCATION:
• B.Sc. Computer Science or Information Technology degree or equivalent experience
