Position:
Junior BD-J Developer
Post overview:
• Primary function will be to develop Blu-ray content by programing Interactive Menus, Disc functionality and navigation using programing language JAVA (BD-Java based on J2ME) and Authoring Applications such as Blu-print and next generation Blu-ray Authoring tools.
Job description:
• Develop Blu-ray content by programming disc functionality, appearance, and navigation.
• Write code for interactive menus by creating buttons, background graphics, external images, sounds, and animations.
• Troubleshoot programming logic to fix navigation errors.
• Deal directly with other technical, creative and operations employees on a regular basis.
• Should learn and perform all processes related to Authoring.
• Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of projects.
• Update relevant logs and time tracker on a project-to-project basis.
• Keep track of all communications related to his/her project.
• Back-up projects according to the standard back-up process.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients internal/external.
• Complete other department specific tasks as assigned by lead(s) depending on the schedule.
• Report to authoring lead(s) and keep them updated on the status of assigned tasks.
• Follow department specific schedules, guidelines and demonstrate schedule adherence, and attendance.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• B.Sc., M.Sc., BCA, MCA, B.E. or M.E. degree in computer science, programming, any engineering degree with programming knowledge or related field.
Skills & Personal Attributes
• Strong understanding and implementation of OOPS
• Strong knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Animations, Multi-Threading, Network Programming, and Game Development.
• Experience with J2ME is a plus.
• Experience with game programming is a plus.
• Effective English communication skills - written and verbal.
• Team player, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• To be willing to take on new responsibilities.
• Proactive in anticipating and heading off crisis situations.
• Proactive about spotting and resolving production issues.
• High performance standards.
• Be able to stay calm and focused under pressure.
• Have a good rapport with team members and key members in other departments.
• Strong understanding of client patterns.
• Good comprehension skills.
• Any previous knowledge and/or experience in basic DVD/BD authoring a plus.
• Hands on experience in one or more IDE is preferred: IntelliJ IDE, Eclipse IDE, Netbeans IDE, etc.,
• Familiarity or experience with multimedia audio and video codecs and encoding systems, familiarity with multimedia file formats (MPG, AC3, TIFF, PNG) and familiarity or experience with other multimedia applications (Photoshop, FCP) are plus.
