presence in 9 countries. Our clients include the major Hollywood studios as well as a growing number of on-line retailers.
We currently have an opening for a Blu-ray DVD Author/Java Developer. This is a mid-shift position after training on days, Hours will be 2pm - 11pm. The position will be located in Moosic, PA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Candidate must demonstrate advanced competency in computer programming languages such as C++ and Java.
• Candidate must be qualified and able to program Blu-ray Disc functions using GUI based tools enhanced with scripting languages and mimic those same functions using the BD-Java programming language.
• Candidate must be able to test their own titles (software) as well as understand and approve programming created by others in the authoring group and run verification tools on finished projects to confirm industry specification compliance.
• Candidate must be able to create solutions to programming issues on a continuous basis, along with optimizing code for better performance. Including deadline shifting and client requests and changes as well as troubleshoot programming logic and player compatibility
issues.
• Candidate must be able to perform a preliminary quality check on each project to eliminate errors or omissions.
• Candidate must be organized, diligent, detail-oriented, and document/comment code so that others can easily understand.
• Candidate must possess solid oral and written communication skills.
• Candidate will work in a fast-paced, small team environment with hard deadlines.
• Candidate will be dealing directly with other technical, creative and operations employees on a regular basis.
• Candidate must also be able to work independently within their own process yet continue to be responsible for following up on any outstanding issues with their projects in a timely manner.
• Candidate must adhere to company IT systems policies and requirements for security and process control.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• M.S. degree preferred in computer science, programming, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
• Significant software programming skills and experience with XML, C, C++, and Java is a must.
• Strong knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Object-Oriented Programming, Animations, Multi-Threading, Network Programming, Game Development.
• Familiarity or experience with multi-media audio and video encoding systems, graphic file formats (PNG, JPEG) and other multimedia applications (Photoshop, Fireworks) is required.
• DVD-Video and/or DVD-Audio authoring experience is a plus.
