Job Overview:
Support Finishing and Dailies teams: Support IN/OUT traffic of all data, archive management, storage allocation and debarring activity of all digital projects.
New Technology Support: Support new processes and software applications by maintaining a proficient understanding of evolving workflows and internal software development.
Quality Control: Maintain outstanding levels of oversight of deliverables created during the finishing process. Responsible for the integrity of clients' media assets and for maintaining the highest standard of security in a controlled, secure environment.
Teamwork: Collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues to obtain instructions and solutions to meet project objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the integrity of clients' media assets,
• Transferring and logging all data from client production drives to Encore servers. Operating various post-production software applications, including Colorfront EXD/OSD, Black Magic Resolve, AVID, and Premiere. An understanding of the applications of EDL and ALE files, as well as knowledge of the various digital camera formats (i.e. RED, ARRI, Phantom) is an advantage.
• Cataloguing/scanning of drives and other assets that enter the facility pertaining to I/O and post-production.
• Running Unix/Linux shell commands to expedite day-to-day operations.
• Archiving original camera media and finishing deliverables to LTO, and sending packages to clients using file movement protocols such as Aspera. An understanding of LTO archiving protocols, multiple server networks and large file movement protocols, such as Aspera Faspex and Cargo, will be an asset.
• Pulling VFX plates for vendors based on debayer and resolution settings unique to each project.
Requirements/background:
• Previous experience with media/post-production industry
• Work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
• Flexible with shift hours
• Knowledge of the film industry, specifically the various processes under post-production
• Understanding of the various file formats and codecs related to professional image capture
• Experience with Unix/Linux shell commands, Mac- and PC-based operating systems, and the various software related to production and post-production
