Position Title
Data I/O Operator
Position Summary
The Data I/O Operator is responsible for the secure transfer of all data entering or leaving Deluxe systems, including Film & Television materials transmitted electronically or via media such as hard drives, data tape & optical discs. DCP and source elements are ingested so any department or other personnel have access to them to perform their duties. The Data I/O Operator is also responsible for securely archiving for storage and retrieving files, either in the cloud or data-tape storage systems. This position will be located in Toronto.
Main Duties
• Manage all incoming and outgoing data
• Ensure 100% accuracy for all data deliveries
• Ensure security protocols are followed
• Archiving files and file restoration from archives
• Maintain logs of completed work orders and inbound/outbound files
• Send/receive/distribute files via Aspera, Signiant, AWS S3, FTP, & other secure transmission methods
• SAN clean-up and archiving
• Troubleshoot technical issues regarding SAN, OS, drives, transfers and escalates the issues to all appropriate parties when necessary
• Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring
• Experience with Aspera, Signiant, AWS S3 & FTP file transfer methods would be ideal
• Familiarity with Windows, MAC OS, Linux, and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of computer networks, including hardware, protocols and firewalls in a security conscious environment
• Familiar with Metadata/XML creation and verification, digital packaging and quality control processes is an asset
• Experience using multiple types of physical media (including how to mount them in all environments, troubleshoot issues, understand/articulate transfer speed capabilities)
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem resolution skills
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and tasks and prioritize work; works well under pressure
• 2+ years of experience in a Data I/O, post-production, or Media Asset Management environment is preferred
• Diploma or Degree in IT, Media, Communications or related field
