Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, has a position in its visual effects department in Vancouver, Canada. Encore provides post-production services to top television series and is owned by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. Deluxe is the leading provider of a broad range of entertainment industry services and technologies to major Hollywood Studios and an international client base.
We have an opening for a Compositor. This position will be located in Vancouver, Canada. The perfect candidate needs to be a dependable, team player with a great attitude, and flexible with our fast turnarounds.
SUMMARY:
They will work closely with the VFX Supervisor, VFX Producer, and Leads in achieving the highest creative and technical standards of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Seamlessly integrate the various layers or elements of a live-action shot.
• Ability to tackle shots from start to finish, including roto, tracking, paint, animation and creation of elements, etc.
• Matte extractions from blue/green screen photography.
• Strong attention to detail, sense of color, color space and lighting.
• Composite Multi-Pass CG Elements to create photo real shots.
• Clean and efficient script organization.
• Present work clearly in Dailies.
• Communicate progress of work to Coordinator and Producer in a timely fashion.
• Assist in training compositing staff by utilizing roto/track/paint team.
REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BS preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a compositor in episodic, commercial or feature VFX.
• Must excel in tracking and blue/green screens comps.
• Proficient in Nuke, Photoshop, Boujou/Syntheyes/Mocha, Primatte/Keylight/Ultimatte.
• Knowledge of 3D particle systems, Fusion, and After Effects is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
• Experience working with Shotgun software preferred.
