Editpool is looking to recruit a creative, proactive & motivated Assistant Editor to join our growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the world's biggest Film Studios and deliver fast-turnaround, high quality content for leading international campaigns (includes Trailers, TV Spots, Promos, Digital and Sizzles).
As an Assistant Editor, this is a key technical role in the Company which involves managing assets for marketing material ensuring they adhere to, and exceed, the standards anticipated by the Company and its' clients.
This is a full time, London office based role.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
The Assistant Editor will report to the Creative Director/Senior staff and work closely with them, assisting from initial brief through to final delivery.
This includes all aspects of VT operations including ingesting and managing assets, preparing Avid projects, all file delivery to external clients and finishing.
• Proven track record in assisting editors, ideally at an AV agency or post house.
• Experience in AV asset management across servers and edit suites and all AV formats.
• Experience on Avid and additional AV software and technical workflows.
• An eye for a great shot as you may be asked to make selects on tight deadline projects.
• A passion for editing and desire to learn and aspire to become an offline creative editor.
• Keen interest and knowledge of Film, Music and Design.
This role requires you to take ownership of projects, be extremely organized with a huge attention to detail, and an ability to work collaboratively.
You will be required to adhere to Company security policies and remain vigilant and aware of the highly secure footage you will be exposed to.
You will be responsible for always maintaining and following best practices for versioning, Quality Control, naming conventions and organization of media and project files.
Specific Duties include:
• Ingesting and setting up Avid projects to create Trailers, TV Spots and Sizzles.
• Ingesting and managing graphic design assets such as After Effects projects and elements.
• Online Editing – Conforming, grading, and final deliverables QC with producers
• Quality Control – ensuring timelines adhere to the relevant tech specs
• Preparing offline and final asset deliveries for multiple delivery platforms, including Cinema, Digital, Mobile, OOH Large format screens, DOOH and Broadcast.
• Archiving and maintaining VT Operations servers.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and working independently and to a high standard is a must.
You'll continuously research, discover, experiment with and implement new editing & styles, techniques & technologies to maximise the efficiency of our workflow and elevate the quality of our work.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Ideally you have practical experience of editing film trailers, or other marketing/advertising content, including a flair for telling stories, finding interesting hooks and good creative problem-solving skills.
You'll want to grow and learn how to deliver strong narratives through sharp and clear edits and build your creative understanding of selecting music to accompany an edit.
Specific Attributes include:
• Working knowledge of Avid Media Composer
• Understanding of offline and online workflows such as preparing files graphics, sound mix and grading.
• 2-3 years 'hands-on experience' in AV post production environment.
• Experience with Digital workflow including compression, conversion and delivery of projects.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
• Good communication skills.
• Collaborative demeanour for working with clients and colleagues across departments at all levels.
• Experience using Adobe Premiere and After Effects is desirable.
