As an Assets Lead at Method Games, you will display very strong modelling and texturing skills, particularly with a background in Gaming. You'll be involved in creating primarily character and organic models and textures while being a pro at leading a small team of artists. Additionally, you will have proven experience in production environments, demonstrating an ability to model and texture complex and accurate models from reference, previs and scan data.
In this role, you will:
• Lead a small team of artists and be adept at articulating your team's needs to department Heads.
• Be adept at interpreting artistic and technical direction from supervisors;
• Participate as a team member in determining various design and technical solutions;
• Be responsible for the creation of texture maps for hard surface and organic assets;
• Work closely with rigging artists and cfx to ensure topology allows for proper movement;
• Keep supervisors aware of problems arising in pre-production and shot production and offer creative solutions to those issues;
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role;
• A talent working on organic and character modeling;
• Robust experience with asset development for games;
• A portfolio for our team to review;
• Quick and efficient UV and texture skills;
• Proven ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines;
• Strong experience with Maya, Zbrush, Substance, Marmoset,and Mari;
• Ability to take concept art and create realistic well-organized models;
• Flexibility to perform in a constantly changing work environment;
• Ability to compromise and take criticism well.
It would also be helpful if you had:
• Substance Painter and Designer experience;
• Experience with UVlayout.
