Position Overview:
Excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented Assistant/Front Desk Coordinator to work within a busy PR company operating in the film and entertainment industry. The Assistant/Front Desk Coordinator will support the efforts of the President as well as various team members in the Los Angeles office with various administrative tasks.
Though you will be holding an entry level position, your work will be instrumental in the development and execution of PR plans and strategies. Our ideal candidate will be a creative PR and communications graduate, brimming with potential. An eager interest in the field partnered with good writing and research skills are very important to us. If you are well-organized, confident and an excellent communicator, we'd like to meet you!
Position Summary:
We are looking for a confident, highly organized individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a welcoming disposition.
Responsibilities include:
• Create and manage data bases, media lists and editorial calendars
• Drafting releases for review by the team
• Assist on-site at premieres, junkets, festivals, and client events
• Assist team as directed in all aspects of client servicing
• Provide support in the office by answering phones and assisting the President with calendar
• Coordinate intern workload
• Develop connections with journalists and media sources
• Track publicity items in newspapers/trades/etc.; follow and review industry news and trade press daily
• Generate press clippings for corporate clients and festival films
• Track social media content streams and trends
• Coordinate the assembly of press kits
• Attend group brainstorm and new business development meetings
• Provide research support for new business pitches
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• BS/BA in Public Relations, Communications or relevant field
• Proven experience as PR assistant, intern or similar position
• Success in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, proactive and personable demeanor
• Self-motivated, self-starter, takes initiative and follows-through
• Effective listening, strong verbal and written communications skills (including grammar)
• Strong organizational, time management skills and work ethic
• Eagerness and willingness to learn
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Willingness to travel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet research
