About Dark Catt:
Dark Catt Studios is an independently owned and operated multimedia production company in Chicago. From its humble beginnings in 2012, shooting independent documentary and freelance video journalism, Dark Catt Studios has grown to take on more creative projects. The studio now has several ventures underway, including feature films, AR/VR Games & Experiences, television pilots, and more. As it continues to expand, Dark Catt Studios will need more people to join their sound department team.
Where You Fit In:
Dark Catt Studios is looking for interns to fill an innovative and creative learning experience opportunity with our production company. We are currently seeking outgoing, creative candidates with a great understanding of sound design for film and video production to assist our production and post-production audio team. Ideal candidates would be innovative individuals who enjoy brainstorming, researching, and working on a variety of video projects. This is a hands-on learning experience rooted in exploring the full spectrum of post-production sound design and on-set audio. Students will also have the opportunity to work and collaborate in other areas of the company if they wish to further their knowledge not just in sound design, but in other production aspects of the company.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create audio mixes and sound design for post-production video and original content.
- Delivers final files and M&E to Editors as instructed
- Performs voice-over recordings, sessions, dialog editing and audio treatment of original content.
- Receive, sync and stores all event isos and audio elements. Creates an in-house storage and catalog of audio files.
- Assists with field/on-location audio when needed for production shoots.
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of post-production audio
- Knowledgeable and experienced in their field
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize priorities and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
- Assist in various aspects of production
- Knowledge in Ableton or ProTools is a plus
INTERNSHIP INFORMATION:
The internship is unpaid, 3-6 month minimum commitment, one full day per week. Our hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-7pm.
