ABOUT DARK CATT:
Dark Catt Studios is an independently owned and operated multimedia production company in Chicago. From its humble beginnings in 2012, shooting independent documentary and freelance video journalism, Dark Catt Studios has grown to take on more ambitious creative projects. The studio now has several ventures underway, including VR Games & Experiences, feature films, Television pilots, and more. As it continues to expand, Dark Catt Studios will need more people to join their production team.
CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR:
We are currently looking to bring in Graphic Design interns that will primarily work closely with our Game/VR Production team and occasionally our Film Production team. We are looking for innovative, driven, hands on candidates that wish to put their knowledge into real world projects and get hands on experience.
WHERE YOU FIT IN:
Ideal candidates would be innovative individuals who enjoy brainstorming and working on a variety of projects. This is a hands-on internship program rooted in building your fundamental animation skills and understanding what animation in the workplace looks like. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to not only further their skills, but also gain the opportunity to collaborate in other roles within the company to obtain a more well rounded knowledge of production as a whole. Our internship program will position you with our team members, side by side in production and let you learn the ropes first hand.
INTERNSHIP INFORMATION:
Internship is unpaid, 6 month minimum commitment, one full day per week. Our hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-7pm. We work with students to determine best day for them to work based on their availability/schedule.
NECESSARY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills
Detail-oriented and self-motivated
Knowledge of the fundamentals of animation
Working knowledge in:
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Muse or Adobe Dreamweaver
Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize priorities and meet deadlines
Capable of creating print, web, web banner, e-blast, and social media campaigns and collateral.
Strong understanding of design and branding, most importantly the role that visual elements play.
Willingness to consult Team Members for advice and direction
Google apps knowledge
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Interview
Candidates will be interviewed to begin their internship process.
2. Evaluation
Candidates will be asked a variety of questions about their experience, interests, work and rated from a scale of 1-10 based.
3. Placement
Interns will begin to work in their selected area with our team and are expected to perform their necessary requirements.
4. Education and advancement
Based on the evaluation, we will work with the interns to get them more comfortable with the skill necessary for their work and based on their interests and teach them new skills they would like to acquire.
