The Dallas Mavericks is currently seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst.
A successful applicant will provide advanced financial planning and analysis insight by working across all lines of business of the Dallas Mavericks and related entities. We are looking for someone prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment but driven to take the initiative to succeed when presented with individual work responsibilities.
The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for the following duties:
• Analyze and reconcile financial and performance data provided by internal and external sources to gauge true performance of various business units
• Track and analyze certain data points from various external stakeholders to allow management to prepare adequately for significant financial impacts on the business
• Analyze financial data from affiliates to identify areas for improvement and to ensure profitability is being achieved
• Produce ad-hoc P&L analyses of various initiatives for multiple departments across the company
• Provide advanced Excel support to accounting department for modeling, reporting, and projections
Required / Preferred Experience and Qualifications
• Degree from accredited college or university in accounting, finance or related field required.
• Expert Excel skills including both data analysis (lookups, if statements, pivot tables, macros, etc.) and forward-looking modeling (i.e. forecasting and what-if scenario analysis) required.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word and Access) skills.
• Confident communicator and presenter
• Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
• Comfort interfacing with senior leadership
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Adept at working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to build rapport, cultivate working relationships, and drive collaboration across the business.
• Proactive and solution-oriented approach towards business problems and process improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work well under pressure while adhering to tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel, Power Point, Word and Access skills.
