Unscripted Director of Development
Critical Content is seeking a dynamic Director of Development to join the unscripted team. This is a great position for a driven and creative individual with a passion for working in all areas of unscripted television development and production who has extensive experience with ideating, formatting, and crafting development and pitch materials. The successful candidate will be involved in many projects at once and must have a proven ability to successfully motivate, produce, and manage multiple projects while working within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Creative ideation and implementation.
• Experience with show formatting, structure and storylines.
• Must have experience in creating pitch decks and possess strong graphic design skills. Must have proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop) as well as Microsoft Suite (especially Keynote).
• Collaborating in team brainstorm meetings, submitting show ideas, and performing research.
• Tracking pitches and status updates on Salesforce.
• Track development pipeline in status and communicate updates effectively.
• Zooming with Talent and conducting interviews.
• Representing Critical Content with a wide range of high-profile contacts, including talent, representation, producers, distributors, and financiers.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
• Managing incoming creative or business development submissions.
• Working closely with the development, production, executive and legal teams.
• Other various administrative projects and tasks, as necessary.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience required.
• Preferred candidate will have solid, development-related work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of work-related experience required, preferably within a high-paced agency, network or TV production environment.
• Strong knowledge of unscripted television business news and developments is strongly preferred.
• Must possess exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, marked by a proclivity toward teamwork, a high level of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and poise.
• Must possess demonstrated ability to take direction, pay attention to detail, follow through on tasks with minimal additional direction and be resourceful, self-driven, and able to prioritize.
• Prior experience and proven methodologies for understanding and anticipating executive needs to optimize efficiency, organize work, and quickly course-correct, if challenges are presented.
• Must have proven meticulous attention to detail in daily work habits.
• Ability to exercise sound critical thinking and judgment, while managing competing & demanding priorities.
• Proficiency in the Mac operating system environment and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• Have high levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
• The successful candidate must be able to work overtime, as needed.
Important:
Currently this position will work remotely and then move into a hybrid model. The ideal candidate will have industry experience in unscripted television development. This is a ''HIGH VOLUME POSITION''….only those with the requisite skills listed above should apply.
