Reporting to the SVP of Finance & Corporate Administration, the Director of Human Resources will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing all human resource initiatives, such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations in the traditional and video production space.
Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, and manage all human resource initiatives, such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations.
Oversee staff operations, business planning, and budget development of HR programs.
Establish human resources objectives following organizational goals along with international, federal, state, and local legal requirements.
Implement human resources strategies for talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee retention, and Affirmative Action / Equal Employment Opportunity compliance
Manage annual and ongoing goal setting across the organization (OKRs). Oversee the tracking of OKRs at the organization, department and individual level
Manage the performance review cycle for all employees
Maintain and update all HR policies and the company's Employee Handbook
Work with Video Production Network team & Payroll Manager to implement EEO forms into platforms
Plan, supervise, and contribute insights and recommendations to develop the organization's growth strategies.
Advise managers on essential aspects like employee and labor policies, such as ADA, FMLA, and OSHA.
Deal with the day-to-day questions from employees regarding employee benefits, payroll, and processes.
Collaborate with other department managers to plan and deliver employee training programs, give employees feedback, ensure compliance with labor laws, and facilitate performance management.
Partner with the senior leadership team and video production to establish an HR strategic vision needed to support and drive inclusive, safe and respectful workplace environments
Enhance the on-set experience by engaging with production department at key steps in the lifecycle of the production, inclusive of development, onboarding, performance management, training, and off-boarding
Develop and drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in partnership with all departments
Draft and communicate HR policies, practices and procedures specific for the company and video production team
Oversee training and compliance for crew / principal talent and feedback workshops for producers and department heads
Work with Director, Production to identify trends, insights and areas of opportunity for improving the production work environment and conduct non-investigatory production environmental scans and post-production exit-interviews
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources management.
5-7 years in human resources with experience in production HR
Fluency with HR and payroll systems highly preferred Eg Gusto, Lattice, Extreme Reach
Experience supervising and managing a professional staff.
Experience as a trusted resource as a member of a senior-level executive team.
Experience in multiple locations and globally is a plus.
Excellent communication skills.
Highly organized.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented.
Good problem-solving skills.
Budget management experience.
Strong people skills.
Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
Computer literacy.
Must have legal right to work in the United States
