CoSA VFX is looking for a Los Angeles-based Department Coordinator. This role will support a department of visual effects artists, assisting them as they create visual effects shots in a dynamic, self-directed group. Department coordinators will lead daily sprint meetings, act as a liaison between show supervisors, production staff and their teams as well as help artists navigate the challenges of a fast-paced work environment. Successful candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant experience in visual effects.
Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Westworld, Gotham, Stranger Things and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a full slate of prominent shows for the upcoming season.
Successful CoSA staff are passionate about providing high-levels of organization and demonstrated ability to understand when to act and when to seek advice. Applicants with strong communication skills- verbal and written along with a proactive attitude and sense of humor are greatly valued.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coach the team of artists in project methodology and help identify solutions to issues raised during reviews
Tackle issues head-on and facilitate interactions to help solve issues or make decisions that move the work towards completion.
Assist Project Management with reporting (example: How much bandwidth the artist team has for shot production, how many shots can the team complete in each Sprint)
Create a team environment with the artist team, be quick to solve people issues before they impact the team.
Enforce estimates for all shot assignments and tasks.
Work with supervisors and production manager to identify process improvements that can be implemented incrementally.
