Growing yet high-profile production company with a-list projects seeks a hungry entrepreneurial VP of Legal/Business Affairs.
(For the avoidance of doubt, this is the top position within our legal/business affairs department.)
ABOUT US & WHY WE NEED YOU:
We received 5 direct series orders this month alone and are outgrowing outside counsel. Open to similar percentage + base compensation and benefits. This role is perfect for the ''closer'' at a studio or proco that is bumping up against seniority or tenure in advancing to the next level or has maxed out their opportunities at a legacy corporation. Grow with us.
ABOUT OUR PROJECTS:
Significant opportunity with creatives at the top of their game. Our development slate includes some of the largest IP in history for reexpression. Our deals are mostly with OTT FAANG and HBO. Broadcast could be next stage. We also have significant financing opportunities to open our own studio so you can help us with that too.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have strong deal making skills and be familiar with:
Domestic and international television and film distribution contracts.
Domestic television and film production and talent contracts.
Excellent people skills.
Patience with indie filmmakers.
Excellent managerial skills and proficiency at managing a team during production periods.
Ability to travel (minimal at this time).
NOTE:
Candidate will create forms and set business practice procedures for the company and its projects.
You will work hand in hand with the executives on deal making and acquisitions.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years experience at a major production company or studio is required.
