Job Title: Freelance Video Logging and Editing Assistant

Start Date for position: Immediate
End Date for position: October 31st 2018
Position Type: Part-time freelance, paid hourly (minimum wage). 10-30 hours per week.
Location: Position is available in one of two locations: Tampa Bay area, Florida or Los Angeles area, California. The position will need to work both remotely and in the office (either Tampa or Los Angeles locations).
Job Description
We are looking for a video assistant who is eager to learn and make a behind-the-scenes impact on our department. Video assistant will be responsible for assisting the video coordinator in organizing a video library and creating in-house video projects for athletes and coaches.
Responsibilities:
• Search Youtube and other Internet sites for relevant video clips
• Film group sessions, workshops and interviews
• Label new clips and place them in appropriate folders in the department's network storage server
• Use Axle Digital Asset Management Software to add metadata tags to video clips
• Convert video files using Compressor into appropriate format and codecs for editing or storage
• Capture High Definition video from Cable Box to digital files using BlackMagic device
• Using Final Cut Pro 7.0, create video projects by editing video, adding transitions, music, titles and special effects when appropriate
• Export edited projects to digital files and upload to Vimeo and Ipads
•Receive feedback from staff, athletes and coaches and revise video projects accordingly
Technical Skills:
• Proficient with Final Cut Pro 7.0 or X; experience with Motion or AfterEffects is preferred
• Knowledgeable of video codecs and formats
• Experience filming with professional video cameras is preferred
• Experience with sound effects and audio mixing is preferred
Qualifications:
• Have a college degree or working towards degree; a major in film studies is preferred
• Previous experience in sports preferred
• Dependable, detail oriented, organized, able to meet deadlines and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Creative, passionate about film and baseball , and willing to receive critical feedback on their work
• Ability to work independently and takes initiative
