West Hollywood-based production company seeks a comedy punch up writer/consultant with significant experience on a comedy series to help punch up the first season of a sitcom. Typical writer's room set-up. Our ideal candidate can find the funny in themes of race, class and socio-economics - think ''Shameless,'' ''Insecure,'' and ''Catastrophe''. Term of employment is 4-weeks or more, contingent on performance.
DUTIES
Collaborate with Executive Producers to realize their vision
Work as a team to generate ideas
Rewrite and polish scripts for the 8-episode first season of the show
Accept notes from executives and development staff
Meet deadlines
Able to share the workload with other 2 writers
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors or Masters degree in Film, Television, Screenwriting, or similar creative field
Organized, motivated, and able to work well under pressure
A strong grasp of story, character, and comedy
Witty sense of humor and able to generate jokes quickly
Los Angeles local, able to commute to the office for 50+ hours per week
Comfortable with shifting priorities
2+ years of professional writing experience
Salary: $1000/week
