Person needed to work collaboratively with the Program Directors and Marketing Strategists and reporting to the Market Manager to achieve company goals. This individual will act in a support role to the sales department; and oversee Promotions on-air, on-line and on premise. Will generate proposals & recaps, conduct research to identify potential leads, provide order entry and initiate, develop, and execute station and client promotion and marketing plans across a variety of platforms.
Communicate status of, and issues relating to, all promotional activity to the sales department and key station personnel. Understand various listener demographics and how to maximize such. Identify key promotional & marketing opportunities and communicate these internally/externally when needed. Schedule and coordinate live broadcasts and event appearances as well as sponsorships and features on each station. Will develop and maintain trade agreements with entertainment venues (concert tickets, sporting events, etc.) as well as local community and non-profit organizations.
This person will manage and order station merchandise, develop rules for station promotions/contest and ensure they are in compliance with FCC, ALE, and other applicable regulations. Create graphics materials for web, social media and poster use. Must maintain meticulous records, have demonstrable effective organization skill, and excellent customer service skills.
Must be dependable, creative and computer savvy. The Promotions Director/Sales Assistant will make some local travel in either a company or personal vehicle running errands and promotion set ups. This individual will also provide periodic coverage of the front reception area which requires interacting with listeners and other duties as assigned. Proficient use of MS Office, Adobe Premier and Photoshop, along with Web Development and editing software experience a must. Experience in Adobe Illustrator and Aftereffects a plus. Must be able to occasionally lift heavy promotional items and broadcast equipment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high volume, time sensitive environment and have the ability to meet deadlines. Attention to detail a must.
A minimum of two years' previous event planning, promotions or administrative experience and Bachelor's degree required. Preference to candidates with experience in radio, television, entertainment industry or promotions. A valid driver's license with good driving record and a pre-employment drug screening are required.
