Job Title: Project Assistant/Jr. Publicist - Entertainment PR
Job Description: Award-winning boutique entertainment public relations firm seeks a Junior Publicist/Project Assistant. Our firm represents composers, songwriters, and other talent working in major film, TV and other visual media. With a focus on film music, our firm has assisted our clients from all areas of the industry in winning Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, Tonys, Golden Globes, EGOTs, and more. Our event projects attract millions of attendees worldwide. Last year, our Oscar nominated and Oscar winning clients and campaigns included Hans Zimmer (Dune), Johnny Greenwood (Power of the Dog), Nicholas Britell (Don't Look Up), Alberto Iglesias (Parallel Mothers), Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell (No Time To Die), Beyonce and DIXSON (King Richard), Van Morrison (Belfast), and Diane Warren (Four Good Days).
Our ideal candidate must be a highly organized and motivated individual with 3+ years of professional experience in entertainment PR (internships can be included in this experience), a strong work ethic, confidentiality, and the ability to write well, coordinate interviews, organize and attend events, assist in the day-to-day business operations, and represent the company and clients with professionalism. Integrity, reliability and ability to work well under pressure both in a fast-paced office environment and at high-profile events is a must.
This is an in-person role. Only Los Angeles County residents will be considered, and reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Interacting with studio executives, agents, clients, and media
- Professional phone etiquette and superb written and verbal communication skills
- Drafting press releases
- Pitching clients
- Building and maintaining press kits
- Excellent follow-through skills to secure press
- Posting to social media
- Providing creative input and contributing to marketing strategies
- Managing and maintaining organization of campaigns for multiple clients.
- Ability to work well with a team and independently
- Administrative duties including booking travel, rolling calls, copying, filing, and keeping detailed records
- Coordinating president's schedule, activities, and setting up appointments.
Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing degree preferred. PC workflow/Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and social media proficiency required. Knowledge of ACT! or Cision databases is a plus.
