Film Production Legal Assistant
Looking for candidates who have long-term aspirations to become a Film Producer or an Entertainment Attorney. That's what we do. You'll learn all about the business and legal sides of the film industry and related projects.
We're looking for:
- Clear, direct, kind, polite and professional communication style.
- Eager to command this job, and become a valuable and valued member of a small team.
- Persistent, diligent and determined to complete tasks well and in a timely fashion.
- Careful and vigilant about the precision, quality and timeliness of your work.
- Interested in learning and mastering our management software, knowing that effective use will allow the firm to flourish.
- Independent problem solver - can you figure it out?
- Confidence in presenting ideas and ability to hear and implement the answer.
- Punctual.
- Goal is for the team to excel.
- An interest in the entertainment industry, including trends, players, programs, deals and general industry news.
- Savvy and analytical in order to understand how all of the moving parts of a situation may affect one another.
Duties include:
1. Tracking deal negotiations, legal work and associated correspondence (email and verbal).
a. Adding activity/tasks to the management system.
b. Electronic filing and retrieving of documents and maintaining structure of file system.
c. Manage electronic ticker system to meet deadlines.
2. Being present on all phone calls for the purpose of understanding the issues involved in each matter and:
a. Knowing who people are and where matters stand.
b. Proactively performing work to move matters along.
c. Assisting the Attorney and Paralegal by informing, advising and reminding.
3. Basic administrative duties, the qualifications for which include:
a. Strong organizational skills and applying them to getting results.
b. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Email, Zoom, Dropbox, DocuSign.
c. Big Pluses:
i. Film Production experience
ii. Any legal background, knowledge or experience
