(Depending on degree of responsibility, could be called Assistant producer, or Co-producer)
PRODUCTION COORDINATOR Commitment: 4 to 5 hours/ week for 7 weeks, to assist me in preparing for a live musical event, in a cabaret format, on November 25th, Monday evening, in a theater in New York City.
Responsibilities:
1. Schedule all rehearsals. This requires very accurate notekeeping; It's a big cast, and I plan on having both individual sessions and group sessions. An online scheduling program is great, you need to be adept at that, but using notebook and paper is fine too, for a very well-organized person. Mistakes and double bookings are costly.
2. Be the general liaison between me and the performers; phone/text/email.
3. Photocopy and organize sheet music.
4. ''Stage manage'' the event. This basically involves making sure everyone knows who is going on for which songs at which times.
To summarize: lots of time to devote to scheduling and sheet music preparation, great organization skills, good memory and diplomatic demeanor on the phone and memory of people and what they say. An understanding of backstage protocol during the event.
