We have an immediate opening for a full time payroll specialist in an accounting and financial services company, whose clients are in the commercial production industry.
The candidate should be able to perform the following duties:
1. Be accountable for collecting timekeeping information from our clients
2. Review the reporting of time according to the laws and regulations of the Department of Labor
3. Issue pay-related information to the employees, including vacation and sick accrual if applicable
4. Ensure the accuracy of data entered prior to transmission to payroll company
5. Generate summaries as needed for worker's comp audits, tax reporting and retirement account census
6. Import files once payroll processed into accounting system.
7. Research and address any issues related to payroll.
Qualifications:
1. Working knowledge of payroll best practices
2. Strong knowledge of payroll state and federal regulations
3. Strong PC skills including Excel
4. Working knowledge of payroll companies (CAPS, Paychex, Cast and Crew)
5. Strong work ethic
6. Professional
7. Able to practice confidentiality with sensitive information.
8. College degree preferred, but not required. Experience is most important.
