Summary: The Music Licensing & Supervision position is responsible for sourcing music according to our client needs for their intended audience/production, curating playlists for clients and pitches, and meeting with clients to understand their vision. They are responsible for staying current with trends and forecasting expectations for future projects. Additionally, the Music Licensing Creative is crucial in the decision-making process of the artists we add to our catalog and browses the catalog based on needs/trends to work with our in-house writers/composers in creating new music.
Responsibilities:
- Searching our catalog for music that meets our client's needs, creating playlists for client searches and sales outreach efforts
- Creating and editing genre-based and mood/themed playlists within our catalog
- Meeting with clients and potential clients to understand their creative needs and provide feedback and options
- Maintaining and building relationships with current clients through frequent outreach
- Assisting clients with music licensing needs
- Managing our music catalog to ensure proper organization and metadata accuracy
- Providing feedback to our Licensing/Catalog team on music needs and ingestion
- Staying current with trends in the TV film and agency industries
- Staying current on shows in production, research, proactive pitching
- Working with our in-house writing/composers in creating new music based on catalog needs, trends and client requests
- Assist with additional music operations projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior music licensing industry experience (preferably music publishing company, entertainment company, television network, production company, or music production studio, preferably in the music, rights & clearances, or licensing departments)
- Experience with theatrical marketing music (trailers/promos)
- Genuine eye/ear for discovering new and emerging artists / trends
- Passion for today's popular/relevant genres and culture
- Excellent organization, communication and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of copyright law in relation to synch licensing
This job is remote but the ideal candidate is available to work PST hours.
Base pay range $32,000 year - $40,000 year base pay DOE + incentives and growth opportunities
