Music Business Affairs Manager with Legal Background
Music talent agency is seeking an experienced music Business Affairs Manager with background in film, streaming, TV, interactive media/video games, other forms of entertainment media and soundtrack deals.
Candidate must have music contract experience and background, Paralegal Certification or Comparable Experience. Candidate must have skills to manage a BA department of 3 (Contract Administrator, Coordinator and Administrative Assistant)
Lead and Manage Business Affairs department of 3 (Contract Administrator, Coordinator and Admin Assistant)
Interface with agents, clients, studio/production executives and outside attorneys in all phases of the transaction
Review, comment, edit, and bring to full execution deal memorandums, long form contracts, licenses, certificates of authorship and Non-Disclosure Agreements for clients
Draft deal term memorandums and research deal term precedents
Manage deal term database on a daily basis
Delegate work, set priorities, implement necessary systems and oversee the work of the BA staff
Strong knowledge of provisions central to film, streaming, interactive media / video games, television, and soundtrack deals.
Strong management and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization
Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritize work efficiently, effectively and appropriately
BA/BS and Paralegal Certificate or comparable experience
Excellent professional references
Minimum of 5 years of work experience reviewing music contracts
Experience at an entertainment law firm, film/TV music department, record label or music publisher preferred.
