Stagehand, Lighting, Sound Tech, Follow Spot, Fly
Role: Execute all task for which he/she is qualified in a manner that is to his/her Technical Directors specifications. A technician will be trained as the Technical Director sees fit on various methods of each facet of production as needed.
Responsibilities: The technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Loading and unloading equipment into venue (including lift gate operation)
Installing and striking AVL equimpment
Taping, cleaning up cables
Sweeping and mopping stage
If qualified running lighting or sound board
If qualified running follow spot
If qualified running fly floor operations
If qualified handling clients requests on changing lights, sound etc.
Maintaining a professional level of presentation representative of the McFarlin name
If qualified troubleshooting all equipment issues during testing and operation on-site
Expectations:
Closed-toed shoes are to be worn at all times
Arrival 5 minutes prior to scheduled call time
Presentable outward appearance
Professional attitude, willingness to work in a group
All client communication is to be directed to Technical Director
Tools are to be brought to every session
No loose-fitting clothing or jewelry may be worn on-site
No smoking on-site, in company attire or if in view of clients or vendors
All responsibilities and request are to be met with a positive attitude. Any opposition to task given will result in write-ups or removal from the call list.
Any significant issues with equipment are to be reported immediately
Show blacks or appropriate clothing determined by the Technical Director are to be worn
Reporting:
All technicians report directly to the Technical Director with any issues with onsite operations or other staff members.
Inappropriate actions will be documented. Different levels of offenses will result in verbal warnings, write-ups, probation, suspension or termination.
