Seeking full time junior publicist at a leading music and entertainment public relations agency. Job requires a highly motivated multitasker with strong writing, research and interpersonal skills. Applicant should be organized, ambitious and a team player with a strong general knowledge of PR/communications.
Duties include interfacing with multiple clients and members of the media, assisting with planning and executing media campaigns, writing press releases and other materials, pitching and securing high level press for clients, covering television appearances and press days, working with senior team members to brainstorm and develop media opportunities, etc. The ideal candidate has strong, current contacts with online, print, TV and syndicated/satellite radio media.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years' experience in public relations
- Must be able to take direction, multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be a team player
- Must be comfortable taking initiative, be solution-oriented and have attention to detail
- Candidates should have written and verbal/phone communication skills
- Must be able to develop and execute both short-term and long-term campaign strategies
- Interest in participating in a wide array of PR campaigns (music, film, TV, food, branding, philanthropy, events, etc.)
- Social media strategy and rollout experience
- Writing samples are required
