Part Time Unpaid Internship
Please read this very carefully and respond only if you are genuinely a good fit. No flakes, please. That means you're ready to do this and won't change your mind 24 hours later.
Previous internship experience with an agent or lit manager and/or development exec and the ability to write coverage move you to the front of the line.
There are two primary components to this internship.
With my manager dealing with a non-life threatening medical issue, you'll be assisting me in contacting production companies re: my material. You should be absolutely fearless when it comes to making cold calls.
The other component is described below:
1. Are you an well-versed in podcasting? You should be.
2. Are you familiar with rock n roll from the mid-to-late 60s? You must be.
3. Will you be available at least one morning a week, perhaps two?.You should be.
4. Are you on the west side of Los Angeles? You should be. (Since this is an unpaid internship, I'd prefer someone who doesn't have much of a commute).
5. Do you have previous internship/work experience in the business? You should. And yes, that's important.
6. Please do not send a generic cover letter. That means no ''Dear Hiring Manager'' type addresses; just use ''To Whom It May Concern.''
Remember: Any cover letter addressed to ''hiring manager,'' or anything other than ''To Whom It May Concern'' will be discarded unread.
If the above items apply to you, please read on.
You should be smart and have an engaging personality. Persistent but polite. My most recent intern has set the bar high so if you're not intimidated by that, get in touch. I'm glad to supply referral letters from previous interns.
And initially, you'd be working from my place on the west side so PLEASE BE LOCAL. Once you show me you can handle the calls, you'll be able to work from your home.
What are you waiting for? Send me your info now.
