We're a Beverly Hills based production company with several feature films, scripted TV series, and reality show productions in development looking for an excitable development intern seeking first hand experience in pre-production.
Filmmakers specifically seeking an eventual role in producing, whether creative or executive level, are especially welcome.
Your schedule would require you to start immediate and can run anywhere from 3 to 6 months in duration.
Individuals must feel they are punctual, creative and self-motivated and most importantly ready to learn and hit the ground running in an open environment where they will be exposed to all aspects of development. The intern will learn film pre-production development with a company that currently has a multitude of development deals in action.
We're looking for a candidate who is serious about working within the industry. We will not require an ongoing of coverage and simple patching of calls. Instead, you will learn and interact with those within the pre-production process accessing the workflow it takes to produce anything from feature length films to input on concept development.
Description:
The designated intern's duties would include (but are not limited to):
-- Reading scripts
-- Research of various sorts
-- Providing important creative input/edits on our packages along with light administrative duties that will provide instrumental in navigating your way through the industry (i.e scheduling meetings, working one-on-one with writers, directors, talent, as we see fit).
-- additional tasks as we see fit that will vet you for a possible position as an assistant or coordinator someday.
You will have...
-- Involvement in multiple facets of development on a broad spectrum of different formats (un-scripted reality to hard hitting feature films-- intern must hold zero biases regarding genres/style, we do it all).
-- Active participation in our company where a professional attitude will be expected as you partake in the stages required to generate high-level productions.
Requirements:
-- Voracious READER of scripts we provide access to is most important.
-- A critical mind to apply to an analytical understanding of script structure & storytelling.
-- Highly organized with a stick-to-it attitude.
-- Self starter that takes initiative.
-- Creative problem solver with the ability to quickly adapt to new application.
-- A major plus: Fluency in Final Draft, Adobe Suite Premiere, and/or Avid, graphic design i.e Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
Strict requirements:
-- Must be available 2-3 days a week.
-- Must own a working laptop and cell phone.
-- Ability to travel to and from the Beverly Hills area.
-- A true cinema and television lover with a passion & experience in storytelling, characters, keeping up-to-date with the ''who's who'' of Hollywood, and avid reader of such periodicals (Deadline, Vanity Fair, Indiewire, etc).
This is a great way to not only learn the in and outs of the film/TV business, but be able to network and make your own mark in a constantly evolving industry.
