The organization is a leader in songwriter education in the music industry. The Education Committee is composed of top songwriters and composers, and manages all the educational initiatives that the organization takes part in including live classes at colleges across the U.S.. The organization is looking for a motivated Education Intern to work closely with our education team for Winter 2021!
Internship Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides support to the Education Committee as needed.
Assists in web-based research and support for education initiatives.
Attends set education meetings (once per month)
Draft various organization education communications such as newsletters, social media posts, website copy, etc.
Develop/add to a manual/instruction booklet as you become proficient in tasks, in order to help transition in new interns.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This is an unpaid position. Students must be eligible to earn academic credit for the internship through their university's internship program office. Interns will be expected to work a minimum of ten to twenty hours per week for at least ten to twelve weeks (or the duration of a semester).
INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS
• Proactive, passionate, eager to learn
• Genuine interest in songwriter education and rights
• Able to set clear work hours
• Able to take detailed notes and keep them organized
• Available on some weekends and weeknights for time sensitive projects
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail, dates and follow-through
• Receiving academic credit/internship credit from school
• Proficient with Google Suite Applications, social media and graphic design platforms
Preference to applicants in the Los Angeles area, but not required.
