Busy 2D and Stop Motion animation studio is seeking experienced Head of Production. This key role at the studio will work with the General Manager and Showrunners to keep all projects running smoothly, on budget, and on time. The perfect candidate comes from knowing both the tv production and advertising agency space, and what it takes to succeed in an environment that is a mixture of both.
We are seeking a great communicator, motivator and organized producer with an innate ability to ''get things done,'' including rolling up their sleeves to do it themselves whenever necessary. As a result, the Head of Production will wear many hats and will be able to build strong, resilient relationships with internal departments and external clients as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
¥ Manage general project performance for Work-For-Hire production (client satisfaction, production spend/actuals, producer performance, etc.)
¥ Manage overall project calendars including scheduling of in-house project management and creative personnel resources to ensure team members are best utilized
¥ Work with Accounting, forecast and track all budgets on active projects, and produce weekly reports showing projects performance and trends
¥ Function as point of contact and oversight for line producers and associate producers throughout the life of a project, provide day-to-day guidance and ensure their deadlines are met
¥ Partner with the leadership team to ensure deliverables are met on time and on budget
¥ Oversee team of staff project managers and in-house creative resources
¥ Assist in staffing of projects quickly by sourcing and onboarding vendors and freelance resources
¥ Identify resources before they're needed and partner with Human Resources / Talent Department
¥ Perform in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines
¥ Quickly assist in generating detailed RFP bids and schedules
¥ Optimize internal processes in coordination with the studio owners and General Manager
Required Experience and Skillset:
¥ 7+ years of experience at a production company at least 2 years as a senior producer or Head of Production
¥ Must have a deep proficiency in animation production (2D & stop motion), post-production, and ideally, some digital work
¥ Strong understanding of production insurance, labor law, clearances, talent, union rules
¥ Experience producing content at a wide range of budget levels including low-budget
¥ A proven track record of managing complex projects from bid through delivery
¥ Immensely resourceful / critical thinker with the ability to process complex information and varying demands and come up with creative solutions
¥ Lives and breathes organization and systems and has a sharp eye for detail
¥ Strong leadership skills, comfortable managing a team of project managers and many projects simultaneously
¥ Great collaborator and strong mentorship skills
¥ Grace under pressure; a team player who is not afraid to get your hands dirty to solve problems
