Major Independent Film and TV Production Studio is seeking a Film and Television Production Finance Executive who will provide financial oversight throughout the life cycle of our various productions from Development through Post-Production. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Head of Physical Production and our Corporate Finance Executives. Must be extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of complex multinational episodic & long-form content. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience with a variety of episodic and feature film productions (both foreign and domestic), managing accounting teams in the field, and within a production studio environment. Must also be able to provide quick and accurate financial analysis. This is not a remote work from home position.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Head of Physical Production in preparing initial budget drafts and cost summaries.
• Prepare preliminary Cash Flow Schedules.
• Source and hire A+ level location production accounting teams for each project.
• Manage the production funding processes, prepare cash-flows in multiple currencies.
• Liaise with productions accountants, network/studio finance, and run weekly Cost Report meetings.
• Reconcile all funding and Production Incentives between the production and studio.
• Stay up to date on all Union and Guild pay rates and fringes.
• Review work in progress / final budgets, and Cost Reports for accuracy; provide coverage of cost concerns to the COO and Head of Physical Production.
• Oversee preparation of production incentive filings for all entities and regions.
• Oversee and handle all tax filings for each project (ie: VAT, etc.)
• Handle development payments and prepare writer payment schedules.
• Manage the show setup including accounting system, bank accounts, Cashet, etc.
• Manage compliance for established production finance policy and procedures along with guild audits, where applicable.
• Oversee the preparation of periodic management reporting, including monthly, quarter end and year end reporting.
• Assist the CFO in the preparation project P&L's.
• Continually evaluate policies and procedures based on necessary compliance, audit review, and periodic changes in the location environment(s).
• Ensure that Security compliance training is completed by all location accounting staff.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting is a plus).
• Minimum of 5 years of TV and/or Feature Film Production Accounting or Production Finance experience.
• 3+ years in a supervisory capacity or equivalent.
Key Qualifications:
• Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly Skilled in Production Accounting Software (PSL, Smart Accounting, etc.), and Movie Magic. Budgeting.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
