Los Angeles (Westside) entertainment law firm is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to provide direct support to a busy film and television partner.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, calendaring/scheduling, note-taking, travel arrangements, maintaining files, preparing, sending and tracking contract drafts and execution copies, proofreading and editing documents, communicating with studios, agencies and clients, processing mail, managing heavy phones, and additional administrative duties.
The ideal Legal Assistant will be extremely detail-oriented, resourceful, possess a ''can-do'' attitude, be a quick learner, multi-task with ease and possess the required skills below:
Required Competencies/Skills (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements):
Must have 5+ years experience on a busy desk (agency, law firm, studio, or production company)
Must be able to handle heavy phones and multiple lines with ease and have exceptional communication skills
Must be able to manage and maintain busy and constantly changing schedule of partner
Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments
Must be able to work well under pressure and complete tasks quickly
Must be extremely organized
Must be able to adapt to changing circumstances
Must have excellent computer skills (proficient with Outlook, Excel and Word) and be able to ''figure it out'' in relation to general tech issues
Must be able to handle confidential information and held to a high standard of keeping that information confidential
Special Preferences:
Takes initiative and anticipates the needs of partner
Goal-oriented
Team player with a positive attitude
Research skills & Internet savvy
Understanding of incorporation process with Secretary of State
Knowledge of the film and television industry
Follows directions and willing to learn
