Editor - Short Documentary - Freelance to possible Full Time.
Searching for freelance editors to work on multiple short Documentary projects, ranging in the 1min - 30min length around social justice campaigns, such as MASS INCARCERATION, IMMIGRATION, RACIAL INEQUALITIES.
We are a non-profit organization focusing on telling stories and providing the information to start hard conversations and promote active engagement in our communities through the lens of change.
You must thrive on digging deeper, finding the full story, and paying attention to detailed accuracy. We are not news based, but so much of our work can be time sensitive, so SPEED is a must.
This is a potential ongoing request, so be specific on your availability timelines. Looking for only onsite candidates, who are primarily Mon-Friday but possibly available for weekend work as needed.

Desired Qualifications:
• 2-3+ years working in non-fiction content
• Past work in Documentary Shorts a plus
• Comfortable and excels when working with tight deadlines and fast turnaround.
• Editing on-site at our offices.
• Editing in Premiere and Creative Cloud
• Willing to put best creative approach first, but comfortable in working collaboratively with Creative Director and Producer as needed
• Comfortable with finding a creative approach and workshopping it to see what works. We create a lot of versions!
• Highly organized
• Detailed Oriented
• Strong problem solver
• Basic graphics capabilities a plus but not mandatory.

• You are proactive and like getting your hands dirty.
• You solve problems with creativity and passion.
• If you don't know something or something does not make sense, you speak up immediately.
• You naturally go the extra mile.
• You thrive in a fast-paced work environment, readily adapting to continually changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes.
Because of being a non-profit we do have tighter budgets, but many freelancers love the opportunity to work on something different and meaningful and are flexible on a rate. All rates will be discussed after the application is reviewed.
