This position services the Development at Non-Scripted Television Production Company, acting as a originator of ideas. Working in a collaborative environment this position will generate potential concepts, talent, and ideas for shows can be sold to interested networks. This position requires a person that strives to find unique ideas, and is willing to find a captivating story.
Essential Functions:
• Manages own slate of projects for unscripted consideration
• Generates new and original ideas for potential shows and content
• Keeps up with current development network marketplace trends to generate pitches
• Develops, writes, and edits treatments both independently and in a collaborative manner
• Assists with the production of sizzle reels for internal and network purposes
• Attends pitch meetings to evaluate and contribute to the potential of a pitch
• Networks with management, talent, network and other industry professionals to maintain and create relationships and bring in new business
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
• Strong organizational skills
• Works well in a quickly changing environment
• Produces work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Ability to delegate projects
• Ability to communicate ideas and tasks to others
• Intuitive research skills
• Resourcefulness and creative thinker
• Strong sense of storytelling
• Basic knowledge of production and tools needed to film
• Basic knowledge of post production and software needed to edit
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in English or Cinema preferred
• Prior experience in Development or Production
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Must be proficient with the Macintosh Operating System
• Must be proficient in Final Cut Pro and Avid
Physical Demands:
• May need to lift and move film equipment during shooting on occasion
• Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
• This position works in a collaborative office environment
• Occasional travel to set
