A leading non-scripted reality television company is seeking a Manager of Development to join a thriving development department. This position will be a part of a team that strives to create enticing and impressive programming.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Keeps the VP and Director of Development up to date regarding progress of teams and projects
• Manages own slate of projects, including schedule
• Generates new and original ideas for potentials shows and content
• Keeps up with current trends to generate pitches
• Writes treatments
• Assists with the production of sizzle reels
• Attends pitch meetings to evaluate and contribute to the potential of a pitch
• Supervises Coordinator of Development
• Travel may be required
Job Requirements:
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be able to write treatments, deck copy, sizzle scripts and loglines
• Must have a strong sense of network brand filters
• Must be able to do Skype casting
• Casting experience is a plus
• Works well in a quickly changing environment
• Produces work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Ability to delegate projects
• Ability to communicate ideas and tasks to others
• Intuitive research skills
• Resourcefulness and creative thinker
• Atop current trends
• Strong sense of storytelling
• Basic knowledge of production and tools needed to film
Physical Demands:
• May need to lift and move film equipment during shooting on occasion
Work Environment:
• Collaborative office environment
• Potential on set work
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Prior experience in Development or Production
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Must be proficient with the Macintosh Operating System
