Search for Broadcast Systems Design Engineer jobs in Los Angeles-CA
We are looking for a talented Broadcast Systems Design Engineer for contract employment to assist with Sales and Post Sales services for our clients. This is a 1099 position, with regular full time hours.
The successful candidate will work with company and client staff generate designs, review vendor documents, provide post sales services, implement , oversee, troubleshoot installations, and update as-built documentation. Travel and occasional weekend work will be required at times. Majority of work can be done from Home.
- Determine client expectations for system functionality
- Recommend general and specific solutions to clients.
- Advise on designs of complete systems for quotation including equipment, parts, consumables and labor.
- Write scopes of work to convey system expectations.
- Respond to bid requests.
- Diagram systems using AutoCAD and Visio .
- Work with a project manager to manage proposals including coordination of vendors with end client and tracking of time and materials.
- Research new products to remain current on technology solutions.
- All other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of Strong technical skills with experience working in broadcast facilities
- 5+ years of Broadcast Design experience, creating and updating documentation
- Strong ability to generate clear and concise documentation for workflows, and designs.
- Ability to read line diagrams and understand signal flow.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of system configurations, with an emphasis placed on client workflow.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices.
- Extensive audio design and theory.
- Extensive video design and theory.
- Experience with design of digital signage and IPTV systems.
- RF design and theory
- Self-motivated
- Resourceful
- Ability to solve unusual or unexpected technical or installation problems.
- Familiar with a diverse technical products and solutions.
- Work well under timelines and deadlines.
- Team Player works well with others.
- Self-Starter, able to work towards goals with minimal supervision.
- AutoCAD and Visio experience required
Pluses
- Previous employment with an integrator, TV station, or sports facility maintaining or designing systems infrastructure.
- Experience programming and configuring Harris, Evertz, Ross, Sony, Grass Valley, Panasonic, JVC, UTAH Scientific, and other switchers, routers, cameras, servers, and plant distribution systems.
- Knowledge of a variety display products and systems.
- Strong NDI Experience
- SMPTE 2110 Experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
