Accounting Associate for Business Management Firm Music/Entertainment Industry
We are a Business Management firm that manages finances for musicians, songwriters, producers, and other high profile clients. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Associate.
Responsibilities include:
• Bookkeeping including daily cash flow, maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assists with month-end close, bank reconciliations, and runs monthly reports as required
• Ensures timely and accurate processing of accounts payable; receives, verifies, and posts accounts payable invoices into accounting system.
• Financial and accounting related responsibilities such as confirming staff time entry and preparation of invoices.
• Interacts with vendors and staff when processing a resolution of account discrepancies.
• Maintains accounting department files and records.
• Enters information into accounting data entry system.
• Receives and reviews vendor invoices requests, and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
• Receives credit card receipts and reconciles against corporate credit cards on a monthly basis.
• Reviews, audits, and processes employee expense reimbursements; verifies accuracy of expenses and adherence to company policies.
• Verifies information and maintains accounts receivable reports including but not limited to monthly open invoices, and aging reports.
• Administrative tasks such as answering phones, e mails and faxes, making copies and scanning documents
• Assist with preparation of 1099 forms and other applicable tax filings
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, & Outlook
• Positive attitude, a self-motivator with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
• QuickBooks knowledge and experience is a plus
• 2 yrs of experience in Accounting and/or Entertainment/Music industry is required
The ideal candidate is someone who is thorough and direct with strong critical thinking skills and has the ability to prioritize effectively.
