A newly launched state-of-the-art, high-end recording facility in North Hollywood, CA is seeking two assistant engineers to grow with the company. This is a freelance position and will be on an on-call basis.
We are looking for driven, humble and reliable individuals who are willing to work with a team and are serious about a career in the recording industry. Studio etiquette is a must as we work with high profile clients. This is a great opportunity to be in a high-end studio environment, learn from producers and engineers, and improve your skills.
Duties:
- Setup and tear-down of recording sessions, gear load in/out, session recalls, session documentation
- File Maintenance: receiving/sending files, printing deliverables, session backups
- Gear maintenance and organization
- Troubleshooting
- Client services: Keep sessions running smoothly and anticipate client needs
- Directing and teaching interns
- Aid in building cleaning and organization
- Assist administration in establishing tech procedures and documents
- Engineering sessions when needed
Requirements:
- Be proficient in Pro Tools
- SSL signalflow knowledge
- Experience as an intern or runner at another high-end recording studio
- Must have 1-2 years experience as an assistant engineer at another high-end recording studio
- Able to work long hours (12+ hour sessions)
- Must have an insured car and valid driver's license
- Studio etiquette
- Must be able to work weekends
Not require, but plus:
- Musician
- Music theory knowledge
- Proficient in other DAW's
- Ability to be called in on short notice
