Search for Assistant Editor jobs in Miami-FL
Looking for an assistant who would be interested in a staff position in our Miami office.
Ability to relocate to Miami or stay as a local (knowing someone in the area; willing to travel)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for tracking incoming drives and ingesting footage to appropriate folder structure. Finding out where Raw drive will need to be sent for color session and assisting with arranging shipment.
Transcode footage to meet project guidelines and pipeline specifications if not already transcoded to said specs.
Organize media assets based on the Editor's request, so finding needed footage is quick and effortless.
Track down specific asset requests that come from the Editors or Production team.
Assist the Editor in making changes to the edits based on internal or client feedback.
Export or compress media that meet pipeline and project specifications for client review, final delivery or internal purposes.
Responsible for prepping the final offline edit to the required specifications for mix, color, and conform sessions.
Archives all footage at the wrap of each job including final gfx, final mix and splits, etc.
Maintain proper file structure and approach allowing for future edits / adaptations
Owns any other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Preferred 2+ years in an assistant editorial role assisting an Editor using AVID.
Proficiencies in AVID Media Composer and Adobe Photoshop.
Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Illustrator and After Effects a Plus!
Excellent time management skills.
Able to take direction well from editorial and post production department.
Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Able to work under pressure and under deadlines, with strong follow through abilities
Well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible and helpful, able to multi-task, self-starter, and possess a sense of urgency.
Solid communication skills and ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Competence with working in shared network environments and structured file systems.
