A Los-Angeles contemporary artist is seeking an experienced production manager with fabrication and administrative experience. The position is full-time, typically Monday to Friday but some flexibility is required based on the needs of the artist. The artist has numerous projects going on simultaneously and she needs someone to organize, oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of each one. The candidate will be required to establish and maintain project timelines, coordinate with vendors and ensure tasks are being prepared to specs, and prepare budget spreadsheets for each project. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the daily administrative tasks of running a studio. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling, research, maintaining an up-to-date inventory of pieces, posting to social media, and corresponding with galleries/collaborators/journalists.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience
• Must be located in Los Angeles and ready to start immediately
• Must own a car
• Knowledgeable about contemporary art world
• Experience with large-scale art installations
• Excellent organization & time management skills
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized
• Must demonstrate an ability to manage complex projects from beginning to end
• Strong writing skills with excellent grammar and spelling
• Positive attitude, common sense, ability to take initiative and get things done
• Proficient in MS Office & Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to type at least 60WPM
