Staging Operations Manager (TV Studios)
Location: New York City, NY (Midtown)
Type: 1 year contract on W2
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years working experience in a studio production environment
- Minimum of 3 years management experience required
- Must have strong working knowledge in set construction, studio lighting systems, and managing remote productions
- Must have excellent client relationships
- Working knowledge of IATSE and USA union contracts and work closely with labor relations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Staging Operations Manager:
o This team is involved with managing crews that are working in the TV studios.
- Any of the crews that operate the lights, sets going in and out. Managing the union crews that set the stage.
- For example: ''If your eyes are the camera, once you open the eyes, everything you see is staging. The walls, the lighting, the props, the hand props - WE oversee those crews that all manage that.''
o Other news companies (any competition - ABC,CNN) are helpful. Theater would work as well - any kind of role that oversaw specific crews.
o Schedule - candidate needs to be flexible because the company is around the clock, supporting Today show. Could be 3AM for a good portion of the week, a bit later, etc. as production permits. Wherever there's a need according to the production schedule. For example, a light day could work 7A - 3P if things for the following days are already prepared. Can be early or also stay late.
o Candidate has to have the right attitude. Team player, wear many hats, and autonomous. Problem solver, positive attitude.
o They'll also be beeping budgets and crewing - knowing how many crew is needed, etc. Some fiscal oversight involved as well.
o Working in a union environment - a good middle manager.
o Interview - will be through video conference on Teams.
