Our client, a prominent skincare company, is in need of a Senior Accountant to join their Finance Team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for reviewing and performing daily general accounting activities. This position will ensure accurate and timely delivery of requirements consistent with reporting policies and systems and will utilize experience in operational accounting to gather and interpret financial information effectively.
Responsibilities
• Leads local accounting trade supporting finance team which includes general ledger, revenue, alliance revenue, gross to net sales deductions, trade promotions, accounts receivable, customer deduction management, inventory, purchasing, cost of goods sold, royalties, cost analysis, transfer pricing and all related internal controls.
• Manages processes with timely reviews of organization's financial status and also provides monthly/quarterly and annual closing including financial reports in compliance with IFRS/GAAP accounting and additional reporting methods as needed.
• Reviews existing and prospective revenue arrangements and trade contracts for appropriate recognition in accordance with accounting standards and company policy.
• Ensures transactional accounting is in alignment with international transfer pricing statutory requirements.
• Manages processes to provide input used in preparation of budgets, rolling forecasts, monthly forecasting, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Proactively researches relevant technical accounting and reporting standards to validate company positions, related best practices, pending changes, and/or industry consensus and communicate to management or other stakeholders as needed.
• Perform statistical analysis on sales reserves and validate estimates for reasonableness and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Participates and shares responsibility for internal and external audits of company's records, including financials and analytical reporting.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field (or equivalent professional experience) and CPA certification required.
• 10 years experience in accounting/finance (Big 4 audit a plus).
• Background in pharmaceutical sales & marketing organization or large manufacturing environment with accounting supervisory experience, preferred.
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and knowledge of business and industry standards.
• Thorough understanding and application of GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with Transfer Pricing and various tax/statutory accounting requirements, a plus.
